About Walk-In Shower Installation
A walk-in shower is often the single change that makes a bathroom feel modern rather than dated. Level entry, frameless glass, linear drain: three decisions that change the room.
The structural question comes first. Level-entry showers require the floor to be lower in the shower area than in the rest of the bathroom. In a slab-on-ground home, this is built into the new slab. In a timber-floor home, it means dropping the subfloor and rebuilding the structure. Our network specialists can do both.
The drain decision comes second. A tile-in drain is nearly invisible once tiled but requires the tile work to be done well. A linear strip drain is a statement piece that reads as modern and handles high flow rates for rain-head showers. Traditional centre-floor drains are the cheapest but slope the whole floor toward the middle.
